Perth Anime and Art Convention
Tokyo Alley is a not-for-profit and registered charity organisation, supporting the local Western Australian pop-culture and artist community since 2016.Tokyo Alley was first established at Tokyo Underground in conjunction with local Perth artists. Our humble beginnings have seen it grow into a regular events throughout the year, aiming to bring Perth talent together under one roof, to spread fun and inspiration to an increasing number of Japanese anime, manga and gaming fans.

🎟️ Marketing Department
We are currently opening positions for Social Media Manager, Copywriter, and Discord Moderator.⭐ Social Media Manager
This is an involved and active role during the times leading up to, and during Tokyo Alley events. We are currently on the platforms Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Experience in general marketing and/or photography is a plus.
Responsibilities:
▶ Driving social media engagement and growth
▶ Ensure posts are uploaded on time in accordance to the internal schedule
▶ Tracking and promoting ticket sales
▶ Managing promotional materials/campaigns
▶ Addressing online enquiries and messages
▶ Continue social media engagement during event hours⭐Copywriter
You will be responsible for writing copy for online content, and published materials through the interpretation of briefs provided by, and collaboration with the other departments.
Responsibilities:
▶ Write clear, attractive copy in the style of Tokyo Alley's vibrant and casual brand
▶ Edit and proofread copy as needed
▶ Experience in dry and informative copywriting is also a plus⭐Discord Moderator
Our Discord server currently hosts over 300 users, and is required to be managed on a regular basis.
Responsibilities:
▶ Ensure all members follow the server rules
▶ Ensure the server is a safe and healthy environment for everyone
▶ Assist with general enquiries
🤝 Volunteer Department
We are currently opening positions for Volunteer Coordinators, with the potential to advance towards Volunteer Director.There are THREE main areas where Volunteer Coordinators are required, Front of House, Tokyo Alley Booth, and the Activity Zone.⭐Volunteer Coordinator
You will be responsible for coordinating your respective area/s, and support the general volunteers on the day of the event.
Responsibilities:
▶ Planning and delivering content for training days
▶ Schedule and coordinate volunteer briefings
▶ Maintain communication with general volunteers
▶ Organise and set-up required equipment for assigned area
▶ Attend to the needs of general volunteers⭐Volunteer Director
You will be the main point of contact for all relevant coordinators, and mutually support all Volunteer Coordinators.
Responsibilities:
▶ Oversee the three main areas of the event
▶ Manage and support Volunteer Coordinators
▶ Address and respond to volunteer related enquiries
▶ Organise general volunteer recruitment
▶ Deliver general volunteer check-in and out process during the event day(s)
▶ Attend to the needs of general volunteers
🎮 Activities Department
The Activities Department is responsible for event-day activities, such as the drawing competition, stamp rally, doodle wall, etc. This role will work closely with the Volunteer Department.⭐Activities Coordinator
You will be in charge of planning and organising the different activities at Tokyo Alley events. This department will be assisted by the Volunteer Department to help run the events on the day. You may also have the opportunity to concept and pitch potential activities for future events.
Responsibilities:
▶ Organise and set-up the various activities on the day
▶ Plan layouts and coordinate purchase/hire of required equipment
▶ Brief volunteer director and coordinators about volunteer requirements for planned activities
▶ Liaise with external, relevant organisations to plan activities
🎤 Stage Department
The Stage Department is in charge of the operations on and behind the stage, on screens and other various technical procedures. Tokyo Alley has big plans for the stage, being on the stage team means you can help realize these goals!⭐ Stage Coordinator
You will be working in collaboration with the Stage Director, fellow team members and other departments; particularly the activities zone.
Responsibilities:
▶ Support in the organisation of stage related entertainment and panels
▶ Manage video and audio equipment in a real-time environment
▶ Communicate with panellists and performers to ensure high quality entertainment
▶ Assist in scheduling
▶ Assist in the creation of audio-visual graphics
▶ Create stage related resources
👗 Cosplay Department
The Cosplay Coordinator will be working with our **Cosplay Director **in organising cosplay related entertainment and activities, such as the cosplay parade and competitions.⭐ Cosplay Coordinator
Responsibilities:
▶ Support in the organisation of cosplay related entertainment and activities
▶ Assist in sourcing cosplay partners/sponsors/prizes
▶ Being active within the cosplay community is a plus
🎨 Creative Department
We are currently opening positions for Artists and Graphic Designers.This is an involved and active role during the times leading up to, and after Tokyo Alley events. You will work closely with the Creative Director to help create digital and print materials. Applications for the Creative Department will be required to submit a portfolio of proven work/experience.⭐Graphic Designer
You must be proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign programs. Knowledge in print-ready file management (crop, bleed, etc.) is also required.
Responsibilities:
▶ Create graphics for digital and print materials following the Tokyo Alley Style Guide
▶ Deliver files in a timely matter, in accordance to the internal schedule
▶ Motion graphic and/or photography experience is a plus⭐Artists
Knowledge of different file type properties is required. In relation to Tokyo Alley's brand, an "anime/manga" illustrative style is desirable; the portfolio submission should display an adaptability for commercialised material.
Responsibilities:
▶ Create illustrations digital and print material, and merchandise, with guidance from the creative director
▶ Knowledge in print-ready file management (crop, bleed, etc.) is a plus
